Balancing a professional life while sheltered-in with your kids in a new format can be stressful. That stress can make it especially difficult to support them as student athletes.
We're here to help with a program designed to guide parents to greater awareness, deeper wisdom, and stronger compassion.
Three days per week of self-paced online morning and/or evening trainings, based on a mindfulness program developed at the UCSD Center for Mindfulness called mPEAK.
7:00-7:30 pm every Wednesday evening, September 23-October 28, we're hosting a discussion with other parents of student-athletes striving to be more mindful and compassionate with themselves and their children.
5-15 minute check-in with Coach Keith to apply concepts to your personal life!
After playing through the ranks of youth basketball, a stellar High School career at Rancho Bernardo High School, a historic collegiate career at New York University, and a five-year professional career in Asia, Keith has experienced how approaching the journey of basketball, and life, with mindfulness and compassion improves happiness and performance.
Keith trained at the UCSD Center for Mindfulness to teach a course called mPEAK (mindfulness based Performance Enhancement, Awareness and Knowledge), which brain scans proved helped Olympians be more mindfully aware and resilient en route to winning a gold medal! For the past eight years, he's taught these principles to hundreds of youth athletes, and saw dramatic improvements in their confidence, focus, poise, resilience and overall drive!
Keith has also seen and studied the effects of different styles of parenting on youth athletes, and has noticed without a doubt that parents approaching their relationships with their children with Mindfulness and Compassion support their children to be more happy, healthy and thriving! After having two kids of his own, he has become passionate in exploring ways to support each other to support our beloved children!
